It looks like the housing market in the Comstock Park School District is starting to pick up. Inventory is up 17% in the last month and up 22% from this time last year! Sold listings are up 25% from last year and homes are selling more quickly too. Homes sold in May 2013 spent an average of 92 days on the market before closing while homes that sold in May 2014 spent less then half that time on the market, only 40 days!
If seasonal trends follow last summer, we could see a small uptick in the number of homes on the market. This may be due in part because families often try to move during summer break when the weather is more cooperative. Plus some sellers may have been holding back from listing their home during the unseasonably cold winter and spring we had in South West Michigan. Last May there were 31 new listings in this area and this May there were 40! If this trend continues, buyers should be pleased to find a better selection soon!
